The Voice Shrine - Because The Default Voices In UT2004 Are Really Crap

- Ten Brand New Voicepacks -
[April 22nd, 2004 - 5:25pm]

First of all, I'm very pleased to announce that my Professor Stephen Hawking voicepack is available for download. This pack was one of the most popular voice modifications for the original Unreal Tournament, and since the re-launch of The Voice Shrine, people have been requesting it. Well, here it is - and I'm sure you won't be disappointed. Also, CARADOC has been busy, as he's submitted nine packs to The Voice Shrine! First of all, we have his great Wicked Witch voicepack, taken from the Wizard of Oz movie. Also, we have eight musical voicepacks which are as follows: ACDC, Benatar, Judas Priest, KISS, Krokus, The Offspring, Van Halen and Van Hagar. Although not all UT players enjoy musical voicepacks, they work quite well in the game. Last but not least - I've released a 'UT2004 Sound Listing' tutorial of sorts, which should help you out a little in your voicepack creation. It's nothing special, but it's here to help you remember where your order/other sounds should go. Thanks again for your continued support.

- Invader Zim, Professor Farnsworth & More -
[April 16th, 2004 - 7:19am]

More packs are flooding into The Voice Shrine, and the quality of them just keeps getting better and better. In fact, the packs are so good these days, I've had to change my ratings from 'out of ten' to 'out of five'. The 'out of five' rating gives you a better idea of how good the pack is going to be before you download it (rather than constant 8/10 and 9/10 ratings), and of course, the samples are still there for you to clickety click on. Onto today's voicepacks, then: First of all, we have the talented Lopar with his great Lopar XL, Sgt. Apone (from the movie 'Aliens') and Merc Female V1.0 voicepacks. Secondly, Chicken_Feet has submitted a very funny Invader Zim & GIR voicepack - taken from the popular cartoon - which I'd advise you to download immediately. We also have Andrew Raines with his amazingly good Nerd Voicepack which has been re-edited and compiled by Jim Love for our UT2004 playing pleasure, and finally, there's Rainecloud (that's me) with yet another Futurama based pack. This time, Professor Farnsworth is here to show us his assorted lengths of wire. I just love the taunts in this pack. Thanks again for all the support, and by all means, keep sending these hilarious (and sometimes serious) pieces of work to The Shrine.

- Daffy Duck, Darth Vader & Much More -
[April 13th, 2004 - 6:38am]

Thank you once again for the amazing amount of support this week, everyone. I've received six voicepack submissions, and they're all pretty damn good. Well, let's get started, shall we? MaZzBoTt has certainly been busy this week, with his excellent Loony Mix, Female One (2004), Male Two (2004) and Crazy Guy voicepacks.
They're all of a high standard, and I'd advise you to download them all right about now.
Also we have Suicidal_Sheep with his first voicepack - Elvis "The King" Presley, and Somebodys_Kid with his excellent and extremely hilarious Daffy Duck package. Finally, after many requests, I've re-compiled and re-released my very popular Darth Vader voicepack for use in UT2004. Enjoy, and by all means, send me more! So, thanks again for your submissions, and keep being creative with your voicepack making.

- Five Great New Voicepacks For You -
[April 9th, 2004 - 7:33am]

Thanks for the support this week, everyone. I've received a number of submissions - four of which are included in this update. The others are still 'work in progress', but they're looking (or should I say 'sounding') good, and they should be released very soon. First of all for today's update, we have my Dr. Zoidberg (Futurama) pack, as per request of the forum-goers from the Unreal Community. This is quite possibly my favourite voicepack, and I believe it's the best I've ever made. Secondly, we have [FtUC]Vertigo's excellent Alien Male pack, which he found lurking in the Uax archives of Unreal Tournament 2004's folders. For some reason, the pack was never actually used in the final version of the game, but The Voice Shrine [2004] is bringing it to you in full. Finally, we have "Kissamies", with his highly amusing Jagged Alliance 2 compilation voicepack. This pack contains three different voices - Magic, Gaston and Buzz. Good stuff all round, so why not download it all? Oh, and thanks for sending these great Unreal Tournament 'additions' to me. Keep those packs coming in, please!

- Xan Boss 2k4 & Duke Nukem Voicepacks -
[April 4th, 2004 - 4:08pm]

After I launched the new version of the site, I told myself that I'd only continue the updates if I received a decent enough response from the community. And guess what? I certainly did. Although I haven't received any voicepack submissions as of yet, I've had loads of e-mail requests for new packs and conversions. So, as long as you people keep downloading my voicepacks, I'll continue to make them for your enjoyment. Firstly, I received a lot of requests for conversions of the original Unreal Tournament voicepacks - particularly the "Xan Boss Voice". So, I'm happy to say that the first conversion available is the Xan Boss Voice 2k4. Also, I've converted one of my personal favourite packs into 2k4 - the Duke Nukem voicepack. This bad boy has over 45 taunts, and that's enough to keep even the most demanding player happy. I hope you enjoy these releases. Please contact me with any submissions you might have, and thanks
for the great response concerning the new site. Heh, I've clocked up 1,895 combined downloads in two days...not bad for a small site! Thanks for visiting, everyone.

- Welcome To The New Voice Shrine -
[April 2nd, 2004 - 7:39am]

Welcome to the UT2004 version of the Voice Shrine. True, the design is almost identical to the other site (except for the spiffy new banner at the top), but that's the way I like things - simple, easy and fun. The new site is easier to navigate, thanks to the addition of a few new links in the navigation bar, and the main page has been revised (as you've probably already seen). Well, I'm glad I finally figured out how to make voicepacks in UT2004, and thanks must go to Fraggin_Phun and other members of the Unreal community for helping me out in this respect. I intend to update this site regularly, as there's lots of voicepacks to be made for UT2004, but as usual, I'll need your help. I'm currently working on conversions for my most popular UT packs - those being the Darth Vader and Stephen Hawking packs. If you want to make a pack and submit it for download here at the shrine, I'd be honoured. Check out my new tutorial on making UT2004 voicepacks by clicking on the 'Tutorials' link in the navigation bar above. For details on how to submit your packs to me, click on the 'Submit File' link. So, what new packs do we have for you to celebrate the re-relaunch of my site? Well...we have the new, revised, updated, converted, ported and better than ever Homer Simpson voicepack from Homer_Stud (converted by Fraggin Phun and myself), the hilariously insulting and obnoxious Judge Judy package from me, the slightly weird and hilariously stupid Arabian voicepack from MaZzBoTt and the brand new Bender (Futurama) voicepack, again made by me. If you have any voicepacks you'd like to submit, please go right ahead. Enjoy - and happy fraggin'. ~Rainecloud (Administrator).
